With the end of August comes the end of another Summer box office season. While many people will debate what the best movie they saw was, a few will argue if any of these films would garner Oscar nominations.
But, what really matters to the movie studios is how much money their movies brought in and if their movies were worth all the millions spent. So far this summer, the box office has made just over $3.7 billion dollars, down 15.4% from last year. One reason for this is that this summer season will be 122 days compared to last year’s 129 days. Another large reason is that there weren’t as many movie choices this year.
